GAR106 - Week 1

This is the first post marking the start of my GAR106 dungeon crawler assignment. For this assignment I am tasked in creating a top down dungeon crawler style environment that fits within the universe of Warhammer 40K, Specifically as a Imperium of man cathedral. To start this project, this week is started to put together an asset list and mood board, as well as research the imperium of man.

My current asset list is as follows: Modular wall segment

Corner segment

Pillar

Doorway

Door

Wall tiling material

Floor tiling material

Trim material

Shrine Asset

Skull Skull Pile

Candle Candle Cluster

I also started Researching the Imperial cult to ensure that my level will be lore friendly, The key points of this research are: They believe that "the Emperor is an embodied divine entity and the only true god of Mankind"*

"Lavish shrines, impressive temples, and majestic cathedrals dedicated to the God-Emperor were built throughout the Imperium. Millions of religious pilgrims soon began making their way across the galaxy to visit particularly important religious locations"**

These temples are "filled with the offerings and tithes from the teeming billions of the God-Emperor's faithful."**

"Billions of Human pilgrims from across the galaxy flock to Terra"*** "Forbidding statues of angels and primarchs loom down from their eyries"***

I decided to set my scene in the 42nd millennium and on Terra, as the 4snd millennium is the most recent time in warhammer 40k, giving me more flexibility, and I decided to set it on Terra as it is regarded as the most holy planet.
